David is widely recognised as a good constituency MP as well as a senior and experienced Westminster figure. He has demonstrated his determination to put the national interest first by resigning from the Cabinet in opposition to a no deal Brexit. He was also a leading figure in Parliament’s successful efforts to block us crashing out in October.
David believes that Boris Johnson’s deal will lead to a hard Brexit that will hurt jobs and living standards. Rather than Parliament just rubber stamping the deal, David backs a confirmatory referendum giving the public the chance to decide whether to leave or remain.
